In the age of social media and smart phones, distraction level has increased dramatically.
There so many tasks to do but due to these digital distraction we are multi-tasking or always behind the schedule.
Stress level and anxiety are on high alert.
How to get back your time and get things done?
Do not worry!
These productivity techniques will keep you on track and will make you happy.
1. Turn off Alerts
Smartphone has become a major part of our lives, its a life saver and also a time drainer. There are so many apps with push notification, its very hard to ignore it.
- New tweet mention.
- Someone has tagged you on Facebook.
- New WhatsApp message.
The list goes on.
Take my advice, turn off the notification or delete some apps. You will save a lot of time and energy. Its very hard at first, but this will help you to be more productive throughout the day. You can check for notification once or twice a day in your spare time.
This may sound cheesy, but taking 20-30 of your day to do some exercise will help you to be more energized and reduce your stress level.
You can just jog or walk on a treadmill. Its also better if you start doing weights.
3. Drink more water
Most of us don’t drink as much water as we should. Our bodies thrive on water. Drinking more water gives you more energy, keeps you healthy, and gives you an excuse to get up for bathroom breaks so you’re not stuck in a chair all day.
4. Start saying no
This may sound weird but its true. Saying no to many things can avoid unnecessary drama and save a lot of time. Sometimes you have to say no, this can be hard at first. There is nothing wrong with it.
5. Plan your day the previous night
Journaling your plans and schedule will make your day more planned and you know exactly what you should do today. Having a sticky note can be helpful to. But don’t overwhelm yourself.
6. Organize and clean your house/desk
Clutter is extremely stress-inducing. A messy desk can make you feel overwhelmed and anxious, so clear those papers, throw out those old paper coffee cups, and feel that heart rate go down.
7. Don’t skip your breakfast
Its been said before by many experts, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A morning meal gives you the fuel you need to be present and productive at work, so don’t skip it.
8. The Two-minute Rule
The general productivity consensus is that if a task takes less than two minutes to complete, you should finish it immediately. Whether that means responding to an email or confirming a doctor’s appointment, get those small (but often weighty-feeling) tasks done with, rather than let them collect and snowball.
9. Get some sleep
The classic advice- get some sleep. Getting at-least 7-8 hours of sleep is important. You will feel more energized and lot more productive. Taking a after nap can also boost your productivity.
10. Make realistic goals
Having a realistic goals is essential for success. What I want o point out is create a mini-goal which will help you to reach your ultimate goal. That will make sure that you track your success and reach your goal. There is no thing as a overnight success.
11. Stay positive
A positive outlook goes a long way toward keeping you happy, healthy, and productive. Count your blessings, and seek out the silver linings.
Habits can be difficult to make, to have better life style and get back on track, change is essential.
